About GitCasts
I am Scott Chacon, and I started GitCasts to help teach people what Git is and how to use it.
My first screencast, "Using Git to Manage and Deploy Your Rails Apps" has consistently drawn a lot of views for several months now, which partially convinced me to write my book. I started this site so I can continue to publish screencasts, since people seem to find them helpful.
I also cannot stress how important the excellent work of Geoffrey Grosenbach at Peepcode and Ryan Bates at RailsCasts was in inspiring me to do this.
About Me
I work at Reactrix, where we have been using Git since slightly before v1.0 came out, probably more than 2 years ago now. You can find out more about me at my blog, or find my open source projects at my GitHub page.
I presented on Git at RailsConf 2008, wrote a book on Git published through Peepcode titled "Git Internals" and am currently working on another.
Software and Hardware
I use ScreenFlow for recording the screencasts, GarageBand and a Blue Snowball USB mic for the voiceover, and I used Aintablog as a base to customize for this site.

You can always reach me to leave feedback, suggest topics, point out where I went horribly, horribly wrong, curse my name and my cats, share your feelings on your favorite Monty Python episode or whatever else you may feel like at my email, here.
I have also setup a Google Groups mailing list, if you would like to point out issues or suggest new topics. Check out the 'GitCasts' group if you are interested.
